Despite not sharing a common universe, comparisons between WB Games Montreal’s Gotham Knights and Rocksteady’s Arkhamverse were inevitable. Indeed, the same can be said for any superhero game and the Batman: Arkham series, simply because the latter breathed new life into the genre.
The Arkham franchise is now a few years old, but these games have aged like fine wine. So while Gotham Knights isn’t as bad as some make it out to be, many understandably consider Batman: Arkham Knight and its predecessors to be the best games out there. Of course, this is subjective, but for those who are thinking about returning to the Batman games, there is a new video from Niktek on YouTube that compares the two games.
The video shows Gotham Knights gameplay before switching to similar Batman: Arkham Knight gameplay. The differences are pretty obvious, but don’t forget that these clips are specifically selected for a specific reason.
The video, titled “These two games are 7 years apart,” apparently aims to at least fuel the ongoing discourse about Gotham Knights and the Batman: Arkham series. It should be noted that some of these things are more like apples and oranges than a direct comparison. For example, the Batcycle is not made for combat, unlike the Batmobile.
