In honor of the imminent release of Warhammer 40: Darktide, developer Fatshark is giving away Warhammer: Vermintide 2 to everyone. From now until November 7, Vermintide 2 is available for free on Steam. All you need to do is go to the game page and click on the “Add to Account” button, and it will forever remain in your library.
The gifts don’t end there. Fatshark also mentioned a free update coming November 8th. It will be called “Trail of Treachery” and will be the first part of a two part “snowy adventure mission”.
While the base game is free-to-play, many DLCs for Vermintide 2 are not. However, they are 50% off. What’s more, Fatshark notes that the game has “more than doubled in size” since its release in 2018, thanks to both paid and free updates.
Vermintide 2 is the perfect thing to get players ready for Darktide, which releases November 30th. But do not think that Darktide will just be Vermintide in space. Darktide will offer the same cooperative gameplay as Vermintide 2, but with an emphasis on ranged combat and the ability to create your character using one of four different classes. The game also features a new random loot drop system that offers tiered equipment based on rarity.
