Following the surprise announcement of a remake of the first open-world The Witcher game, the CD Projekt RED team has bad news for The Witcher: Monster Slayer community.
The mobile adventure dedicated to Strigo failed to attract enough public attention. As a result, Polish developers put an end to the experiment by announcing the official closure of The Witcher: Monster Slayer servers. In a short press release, CD Projekt RED informs the public that the mobile game will stop working as of June 30, 2023.
During its existence, the augmented reality game has led the public to defeat over 100 million monsters as aspiring witchers. The Witcher: Monster Slayer will be available on the App Store and Google Play until January 31, 2023. Starting next day, The Witcher: Monster Slayer will experience major changes, ending on June 30, 2023, with the experience finally ending. As such, from July 1 next year, the Pokémon GO-inspired mobile game will no longer be available on either iOS or Android hardware devices.
