The long-awaited next-gen update for The Witcher 3 will be released next week. We already know that it will not only add a visual update, but also a lot of new features. But even with everything we know so far, CD Projekt Red has promised that even more surprises await us in the upcoming update.
In an interview, storytelling director Philip Weber confirmed that CD Projekt Red has “hidden a lot of new secrets” in the update that “people have to find”. One of these secrets (which is thus no longer a secret) is that Roach can walk backwards and kick people.
Roach can now walk backwards. Or in general, if Roach is standing, then now there is a hidden button that can be kicked. Or Roach now raises its head if you are in water. We tried to add a lot of these little things that people can easily find and that we won’t even write about in the patch notes.
Roach has always been Geralt’s most faithful companion, always coming to his call to deliver him at speed across the continent, but she was not always useful. Sometimes she would get lost, get stuck on rooftops, or get run over by a monster that Geralt really hoped to get away from. Now Roach will be able to fight back.
