The Chinese publication Sohu has announced the timing of James Cameron’s upcoming sci-fi film Avatar: The Path of Water. As it turned out, the theatrical version of the tape will last more than three hours!
If the first Avatar was 162 minutes long (the director’s cut was 16 minutes longer), then the sequel will be 190 minutes long. By comparison, the longest Marvel movie, Avengers: Endgame, ran at 181 minutes.
The original Avatar was released back in 2009. The sequel comes out on December 16, 13 years later. Starting this year, we’ll be getting a new sequel every couple of years. There are three more films ahead of us: Avatar 3 (December 20, 2024), Avatar 4 (December 18, 2026), Avatar 5 (December 22, 2028).
