Flagship graphics card AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX RDNA3, with Navi 31 GPU Already tested with Geekbench 5 software.

This card has been tested with AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 8-core processor on ROG Crosshair X670E Extreme motherboard. These systems are often used by reviewers, so the results ended up in a public database.

Geekbench 5 benchmarks used the OpenCL and Vulkan APIs. This benchmark also supports the Metal and CUDA APIs, but they are not supported by AMD RX 7900 graphics cards on Windows.

Too bad the official Geekbench result charts weren’t released alongside the new models. For this reason, graphics cards such as RTX 4090, RTX 4080 or RX 6950XT are not listed there. Therefore, you have to rely on manual data collection using the methodology – the same API, the same operating system and cutting off the excess.

AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX about 15% faster than the RTX 4080 in Vulkan, but it performs 14% worse in OpenCL. It should be noted that the Geekbench software is not a gaming benchmark, and does not provide enough data to draw any meaningful conclusions: missing GPU clock speeds or driver information.

When journalists conduct new testing in popular synthetic and gaming applications – 3DMark, Superposition, etc. it will already be possible to understand where the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX is greatly underpowered.
